Commerce and Industry
Accountants engaged in commerce and industry will typically look after the financial affairs of only one employer. These accountants often become specialized to know all the ins and outs of the processes of their employer and prefer to work in a more structured environment, often performing largely repetitive work. The advantage here is that the accountant will not be subjected to the severe time constraints and deadlines experienced by their counterparts in public practice, nor does he need to constantly update his skills as is required when serving in the profession. The exposure to tax and other developments in the financial world is normally very limited.
