Professional Experience

Julia is a Namibian Chartered Accountant whose career spans over three decades of excellence in audit, taxation, corporate governance, and trust administration. Known for her courage, resilience, and mentoring spirit, Julia has consistently shaped the accounting profession in Namibia while inspiring the next generation of leaders.

Julia’s career journey includes key leadership roles at EY Namibia, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN), PKF (Namibia), beginning at PwC, where she managed assurance, taxation, and governance portfolios for major Namibian and international clients. Her experience spans both the public and private sectors, including high-profile engagements with institutions like Momentum Metropolitan Namibia, Telecom, Rössing Uranium, and Swakop Uranium.

In 2008, Julia, alongside Eric Knouwds, implemented the PKF brand into Namibia by converting NC Tromp & Co into PKF (Namibia), connecting local expertise to the global PKF International network. Following the 2016 merger with FCS, she now continues her leadership as Audit Partner at PKF FCS Auditors, bringing decades of experience back to the firm she helped shape.

Beyond her firm work, Julia has been instrumental in professional development and regulation in Namibia:

•          ICAN Council Member (2023–present), Technical and Transformation Committees (2009–2016)

•        PAAB Vice Chair & Board Member (2012–2018), Chair of Legal and Education & Training Committees being key contributor to the development of the new Accounting and Auditors Act.

Her academic credentials reflect her commitment to lifelong learning. She is a Chartered Accountant in Namibia and South Africa, PAAB Registered Auditor, and a qualified Fiduciary Practitioner (FPSA®).
