Remuneration and Benefits
We are a people orientated business and place a high value on making life at work as comfortable as possible for all our staff. In our industry, we provide above average remuneration packages compared to salary surveys conducted periodically by the accounting Institutes in Namibia. In addition to your cash remuneration you may expect the following:
Pension Fund – 7.5% of your basic salary contributed by each of PKF FCS and yourself to an independently managed fund;
Medical Aid Fund – Compulsory for all staff, but at no cost to yourself. Options are available to add dependents or to upgrade to a higher scheme.
Disability benefits – Should you become unable to work, you will receive a disability allowance to date of retirement when your pension fund will take over. PKF FCS carries all insurance costs, no contribution from your side.
Death benefit – In the event of your untimely death, a lump-sum is paid to your estate or nominated beneficiaries. PKF FCS carries all insurance costs, no contribution from your side.
Time-off – You want to take a short break but don’t want to touch your leave? No problem, we allow the working in of up to 40 hours so you can take time off later.
Leave – Depending on your length of service with us, your annual leave entitlement varies from 20 to 25 working days per annum. Leave must be taken at the latest within 3 months after your annual entitlement has accumulated, otherwise you will be sent on leave.
Bonus – A discretionary performance based bonus is normally paid in your birthday month.
Long-service awards – Fancy some time off with your better half, on company expense and on extra leave days? Have a long weekend at a lodge in Namibia, a week on an island in the Indian Ocean or a two week trip to Europe – stay with us for 10, 15 or 20 years.
Study benefits – We support studies which are in our line of business. PKF FCS pays for all study fees, a 50% subsidy towards your prescribed books and in further provides study leave in addition to your annual leave entitlement.
In-house training – We pride ourselves in providing top-class in-house training sessions – see our Training section in this regard.
Recognized training – We are an accredited Training Centre with the Namibia Institute of Professional Accountants (NIPA). If you pursue a career in accounting, you may opt to be registered as a trainee with the Institute leading to your practical experience being recognized in terms of a Trainee agreement.
Post-Retirement benefit – If you have been with us for 10 years or longer and you retire at normal retirement age, PKF FCS will pay for your contribution towards our Medical Aid Fund until you pass on.
Your own rules – We have numerous policies in place regulating all sorts of things. If you are not happy with a policy, or if a new policy is introduced, let us have your proposal. We first consult with all staff before adding or changing a policy and will try to accommodate staff requests as far as possible.
Employment Equity – Staff, not management, elects the members to the PKF FCS Employment Equity Committee (EEC). The EEC is furnished with wide powers and acts as an independent watchdog within PKF FCS, to make sure that all employment matters are treated fairly and equitable to all. You will meet one of them at your interview, ensuring all applicants are fairly evaluated.
Free service – You or someone in your direct family owns a corporate entity? Staff is allowed one corporate entity that will receive certain standard services at no cost.
Social Club – Each branch has its own social club organizing some after-hours activities, from bowling to canoe races. Join the club. Apart from the social club, PKF FCS from time to time invites staff and their family to a barbeque, or even to a camping weekend.
Work atmosphere – This is the one we value most. We advocate the open discussion of all issues; we work as a team and support one another. Friday is casual day, come to work in jeans.
